Women’s Ministry

Women within the United Church have been forming UCW groups since the organization was formally inaugurated on January 1st, 1962 through the amalgamation of the Woman’s Missionary Society (WMS) and the Woman’s Association (WA).

Purpose

The purpose of the UCW of the congregation or pastoral charge is to unite women of the
congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which they
may express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship
and service.

Membership

Membership is open to any woman who is in sympathy with the Purpose and who is willing to
contribute her prayers, gifts, and services for the work of the church in the world.
